Saline freshmen swimmers lead the way in win over Pioneer
Saline High School boys swim coach Todd Brunty pumped his fist and pointed at the scoreboard, elated with the results of the 50-yard freestyle. Pioneer's Grant Cole had won the event, and Saline's David Boland and Jake Engelmeier had taken third, but that's not who Brunty was so happy with.
"Way to take fifth! Way to take fifth!" Brunty said to Seth Wait, who stole a single point in the event with the fifth place finish. It was the little things like this that Brunty pointed to as the key to Saline's 104-82 victory of the perennial Southeastern Conference powerhouse at Pioneer High School Friday Night.
"Those were the difference makers, every time you sat down and scored this meet out, that's what it came down to, our fifth or sixth placer," Brunty said. "Every one of those points were important and we just continued to pile those up and racking those up which was key to tonight's swim." (Rest of the Story | Results)
