Pioneer sweeps season series with Saline and more Friday results

By AnnArbor.com Staff

The Saline High School girls basketball team lost focus for an 80-second stretch of its game at Pioneer on Friday night. And the Pioneers took full advantage in a 47-36 win.

With 1:20 left in the first half, Pioneer went on an 8-0 run, capped by a Kamilah Carter 3-pointer at the buzzer, to turn a 16-14 lead into a 10-point advantage.

"Once that happened, we couldn't get past the hump," Saline coach Jason Pickett said. "We fought hard in the third, but credit to Pioneer. They made their free throws in the fourth."
