Our first AnnArbor.com Basketball Game of the Week poll has come to and end, and it was never close.

Pioneer’s girls basketball game at Father Gabriel Richard Thursday garnered 656 votes, nearly 59 percent of the 1,112 votes cast, after voting came to a close Saturday at noon.

Chelsea at Milan boys came in second with 191 votes, followed by Lincoln at Willow Run boys, Milan at Skyline girls and Willow Run at Lincoln girls.

That means we’ll be at Father Gabriel Richard Thursday with two reporters and a photographer providing multiple stories, photos and a live chat from our first Game of the Week.

Both FGR and Pioneer didn’t have any games in the opening week of the girls basketball season. FGR hosts Royal Oak Shrine Monday and Pioneer travels to South Lyon Tuesday before the two teams meet up Thursday.

Today also marks the opening of our Week 2 poll, and we’ve got five games between Dec. 11 and Dec. 14 to choose from.
