The Washtenaw Christian Academy girls basketball team may have trailed by five points at the end of the first quarter, but it was visiting Plymouth Christian that seemed flustered.

"I thought we played really well in the first quarter. I think we had them scared," said Washtenaw Christian coach Bob Trevino.

Then, the second quarter happened.

That's when Plymouth Christian put on a shooting clinic, hitting four 3-pointers in the opening four minutes en route to outscoring Washtenaw Christian 19-5 in the quarter.

The Wildcats had been put deep in the rear-view mirror and never made up ground, falling 64-21 to the Eagles in a Class D district championship game Friday night.

"I think the difference was they came out and hit some threes," said Trevino. "It really set the tone. So we had to play catch-up and it was tough."
