Rudolf Steiner's Anika Sproull makes Class D All-State girls basketball team

By Pete Cunningham

The Associated Press released the first of its four All-State basketball teams on Tuesday and Rudolf Steiner senior guard Anika Sproull was among the players to receive honorable mention.

Sproull -- a 5-foot-8 guard -- averaged 13.4 points, 2.1 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 2.7 steals on the year for Rudolf Steiner. The Storm went 14-4 on the season and won a Class D district tile before losing in the first round of the regional tournament to Allen Park Inter-City Baptist.

The Associated Press All-State team is voted on by a 10-person panel made up of sports writers from across the state from Associated Press membership publications. The top 10 players to receive votes from the panel are considered first team All-State, players who receive two votes or more are automatically special mention and those who receive one or no votes are honorable mention.
