Saline, Pioneer and Huron divers qualify for D1 state meet and more diving results

The Saline High School boys swimming and diving team will attempt to win its third consecutive state championship this weekend.

Pioneer's Daniel Goldstein qualified for the Division 1 state championship with a fifth place regional finish.

On Tuesday, Sam Blair and Ethan Johnson assured the Hornets will be represented in every single event.

Blair took third place and Johnson sixth at a diving regional at Pioneer High School, both qualifying for Friday and Saturday's Division 1 state championships at Eastern Michigan University.

Also advancing to this weekend's championships were Pioneer's Daniel Goldstein (5th) and Tyler Leach (7th). Huron's Will Brenner snatched the final qualifying spot with a 12th-place finish. (Full results at MLive.com.)

Dexter's Jake Kilian and Lincoln's Sam Edwards qualified for the Division 2 championships (Story | Results).

Chelsea's Jacob Burris and Joey Smith qualified in Division 3, according to the Chelsea athletic department's Facebook page.
