We spent this week checking in on our small schools, with Arbor Prep vs. Rudolf Steiner.

Now, we’re back to the big boys.

Saline’s Friday night boys basketball game at Pioneer won this week’s Game of the Week poll, with 46 percent of the 675 votes cast.

That means we’ll be out at Pioneer for a 7 p.m. Friday tipoff conducting a live chat, taking photos and writing multiple stories from the game.

Lincoln-Dexter girls game jumped out to the lead early in the week, before Saline-Pioneer surged in voting. After close tallies through Thursday and Friday, the Saline-Pioneer game pulled ahead to take the win.

This will mark our second Pioneer Game of the Week in three weeks, after the Pioneer-Huron showdown won last week’s poll.

Pioneer had its eight-game winning streak snapped Friday night with a two-point loss at Temperance Bedford. The Pioneers now stand at 3-1 in the SEC Red, a game out of first place.

After losing two straight to Huron and Skyline, Saline is back on the winning track with victories over Novi and Monroe this week.
