Ypsilanti boys basketball wins at Bedford; Gabriel Richard, Saline hockey teams each win 9-1 routs and more Saturday results

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Tristan Simmons poured in a game-high 28 points, leading the Ypsilanti High School boys basketball team to a 59-53 Southeastern Conference crossover win at Temperance Bedford on Saturday night.

The teams were originally scheduled to play Tuesday, but due to facility problems at Bedford High School the game was rescheduled. The Phoenix defeated Tecumseh 69-46 on Friday night.

"Coming off a back-to-back, I was very pleased," said Ypsilanti coach Steve Brooks. "And Bedford is probably the furthest road trip (in the SEC)."
