Six games to choose from in this week's high school hoops picks competition

Rich Marion and his Lincoln boys basketball team are one of my six picks this week.

That's more like it.
I went 7-0 in my picks last Friday, and am saved from printing another lengthy, humiliating list of Beat the Press winners.
It’s a big improvement from my debut, when I went 2-3 and lost to 58 people. Some of them could have been flipping coins for picks and beating me. Pretty bad.
From the surface, it looks like the classic hustle. Throw the first week, look like a sucker to bring in more bets, then bring out the hammer in the rematch and clean up.
But really, it was more luck than that.
Chelsea had every opportunity to spoil my week, leading Dexter in the fourth quarter, before faltering late. That three-point Lincoln girls win over Ypsilanti was a little too close for comfort, too.
But hey, I’ll take luck. As much as I can get it in the six games I’m picking this week.
The week’s best game on the boys side is Pioneer’s Friday trip to Temperance Bedford. Pioneer’s been the best team in the county most of the year, but Bedford’s Jackson Lamb is the SEC’s best player and a game-changer (just ask Skyline.) If Pioneer can keep him in check, it should be able to come up with a big road win.
The highlight on the girls side is Chelsea at Lincoln. It’s a testament to the strength of the SEC White that these two teams, both enjoying very strong seasons, are currently battling for second place, but here we are.
I’ll take Chelsea in my toughest pick of the week. I may need a little luck with this one.
