Supica sisters lead Pioneer hockey to state semifinals and EWMA boys basketball finishes regular season

The Pioneer girls hockey team defeated the Warren Regina Saddelites 7-1 to advance to the semifinal round of the Division 1 Michigan Metro Girls Hockey High School Hockey League state playoffs on Monday.

Leading the way for the Pioneers (14-6) were the Supica sisters. Shelby Supica had a hat trick with three goals, Sloane Supica had three assists and Sydney Supica had 20 saves in net for the Pioneers.

Pioneer will face Grosse Pointe North on Wednesday, March 9 at the Eddie Edgar Arena in Livonia in the state semifinals. The Norsemen have defeated Pioneer both times they played this season, each time by one goal.
