Pioneer wins district preview, Skyline falls in OT and more Tuesday results
In a preview of a first-round Class A district game, the Ann Arbor Pioneer girls basketball team jumped out to a big early lead and beat visiting Dexter 54-43.
The Pioneers' Kamilah Carter scored 10 of her game-high 20 points in the first quarter of Tuesday's Southeastern Conference crossover, leading Pioneer to a 19-3 lead.
"Because we play them Monday (in a district opener), I think it was really important for us to go out and have a good first quarter," Pioneer coach Crystal Westfield said. "Kamilah was able to, at will, do what she wanted to do."
Dexter cut the lead to 30-19 at halftime and the teams played evenly throughout the second half. (Rest of the Story | Boxscore)
