Despite winning the 400-meter relay, Willow Run coach Karen Cook said she wasn't completely happy with the time. "They could have been better, but it was cold," she said. "I had a couple girls out with injury." (Willow Run results)

GIRLS SOCCER Skyline 1, Tecumseh 0: Chaune Rael-Whitsitt scored the game-winning goal, her second goal of the season, with 17 minutes remaining in the game for Skyline (4-2-1). Goalkeeper Maria Meyer made six saves to record her first varsity shutout. (Boxscore)

Beth Boyer scored twice while Casie Ammerman, Jordan Chick, Michele Freed and Ainsley McCallister had one goal apiece for Huron (11-3-1, 6-1 SEC). BOYS LACROSSE Father Gabriel Richard 13, Lansing Waverly 10: In his first start in the goal, senior Sean Regan made 13 saves to help the Fighting Irish (11-7) fend off the Warriors in their regular season finale. "It's tough when you get an inexperienced goalie in there, but Sean did a good job," said Gabriel Richard coach Jim Carl, whose team led 8-4 at halftime. "Day in and day out, you can always rely on (Sean). He's been a rock for us for four years." Waverly cut Gabriel Richard's lead to one in the second half, but the Irish pulled away thanks to a three-goal surge in the final five minutes. Leading the way was Colin McMahon, who scored six goals with two assists. Matt Kolevar added four goals and two assists. (Boxscore)

Okemos 20, Greenhills 5: Josh Khan's four goals led the Gryphons, who trailed 11-2 at halftime. The other Greenhills goal was scored by Jack Schueller. "(Okemos) caught us in transition a few times and had us ball watching," Gryphons coach Mike Costello said. "They are a good team with speed and skill. We showed flashes tonight, but there is a separation between the clubs. We're trying to correct that." Sravan Rengarajan made 12 saves in goal for Greenhills. (Boxscore)

The Flyers' performance in that game caused co-captain Dabiana Gustafson to inspire her team with a pep talk before game two. "I haven't been mad at them all year long," Willow Run coach Duane Edwards said. "But I got mad at them today. I said my piece in the first inning and Dabiana finished it. She made them sit on the bleachers and read them the riot act after that game." The Flyers didn't disappoint their captain. They went into the sixth inning tied 3-3. With runners on second and third, Elisia Rateliff's double gave Willow Run the lead. Katie Mullens pitched both games for the Flyers, allowing three hits and striking out seven batters in the second game. (Game 1 Boxscore | Game 2 Boxscore)
