Washtenaw Christian boys run win streak to four games, and more Thursday night results

Boys Basketball

Saline Washtenaw Christian 61, Montclova (Ohio) Christian 26

Saline Washtenaw Christian’s Mathias Domat scored 21 points, James Pipe had 18 and Mark McTaggart added 12.

“Mathias continues to put the ball in the basket and is very consistent for us, and Mark and James probably showed their best offensive performances of the year,” Saline Washtenaw Christian coach Dan Benefiel said.

Saline Washtenaw Christian (4-1) took s 18-3 lead after the first quarter.

Napoleon 64, Manchester 47

The Pirates used a fast start and a solid second half to beat Manchester (0-7, 0-3 Cascades). Napoleon jumped to a 33-15 halftime lead and then outscored Manchester 18-16 in the fourth quarter.

Nick Cozart had 12 points for Manchester.

Girls Basketball

Flat Rock 69, Milan 20

Morgan Kaiser scored 14 points, and Haley Boyer and Paige Villemure both finished with 11 as Flat Rock remained undefeated.

Monclova (Ohio) Christian 39, Saline Washtenaw Christian 33

Saline Washtenaw Christian (1-4) trailed by 12 points at halftime, and they used a big third quarter to get back in the game before falling to Monclova Christian Academy.

Washtenaw Christian trailed by one point entering the fourth quarter after outscoring Monclova 18-7 in the third.

"This was our first game back from break and it showed in the first quarter," said Washtenaw Christian coach Bob Trevino. "We got our press going in the third to get back into the game."

Rachel Ballantyne scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Washtenaw Christian.

Detroit Consortium 66, Willow Run 22

Detroit Consortium ended the game on an 18-3 run, after taking a 34-16 halftime lead, to secure the win.

Samaria Gibbs led Willow Run (2-4) with 13 points.

"Detroit Consortium is extremely well-coached; they played their game, and I think that we came out flat," Willow Run coach Cliff Russell said. "We just never got it going, and I don't think we were as motivated as we would have liked.

Inkster 73, Lincoln 48

Arie Cargor led Lincoln with 22 points, as the Railsplitters fell to 7-2 on the season.
