Washtenaw Christian volleyball falls 3-0 in regional semifinal
HILLSDALE -- Winning the first district title in school history had been the goal of the Washtenaw Christian High School volleyball team since the beginning of the season.
It was the motivation coach Carly Day used to get her players up.
It was the light at the end of the tunnel during the tougher parts of the schedule.
The Wildcats accomplished that goal on Friday night, but somewhere along the line it was lost on the players that a district championship wasn’t the end of the road.
Washtenaw Christian (28-6) played Allen Park Inter-City Baptist at Hillsdale Academy in the first round of Class D regional play on Tuesday and - according to Day - didn’t appear ready to play, falling 3-0 (25-6, 25-12, 25-10).
