Gabriel Richard wins soccer district semifinal; Huron field hockey routs Novi, Milan volleyball falls to Carleton Airport

In a battle of Gabriel Richards, Riverview drew first blood, but Ann Arbor got the last laugh as the Irish won a Division 3 boys soccer semifinal 2-1 Wednesday in Ann Arbor.

It was the third time the teams had played this year, and Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard came out on top each time. The Irish won a pair of games in September, at Riverview 3-2 and then at home 7-0, leading up to Wednesday's game.

Wednesday, the teams combined for 31 fouls and four yellow cards - two apiece - in a tough, physical game that was dictated by both defenses, especially in the second half. (Rest of the story | Boxscore)
