Ypsilanti beats Lincoln, 21-13, after last-second pass to end zone falls short

By James Dickson

The Ypsilanti High School football team has been on the wrong side of a few close games this season, but in its rivalry game against Lincoln, coined the "Interstate Clash" as in I-94, the Phoenix were able to preserve a 21-13 victory with a last-second defensive stop.

Lincoln coach Chris Westfall has believed all season that his team is better than its winless record, and his team showed its heart in front of a homecoming crowd on Friday.

After giving up a 62-yard touchdown to Austin Sanders on the first play from scrimmage, and another on a 1-yard run by Brandon Jordan with 4 minutes, 16 seconds left in the first quarter, the Lincoln defense stiffened up.
