Ypsilanti graduate Jacob Rhodes' big hit leads Murray State to historic win

Ypsilanti High School graduate Jacob Rhodes helped the Murray State baseball team beat No. 2 Kentucky, the highest-ranked team the Thoroughbreds have beaten in school history.

His three-run double in the eighth inning Tuesday snapped a 3-3 tie. Murray State would win 7-3.

Rhodes, the 2008 Ann Arbor News Player of the Year, is hitting .271 with five home runs and 36 RBIs in 50 games during his second season at Murray State. He played two years at Wabash Valley College, where he was an honorable mention All-American.
