In Brief: Free historical Michigan football video viewing, basketball camp and more
The video "Black and Blue: The Story of Gerald Ford, Willis Ward and the 1934 Michigan-Georgia Tech Football Game" will be shown at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, at the Ford Presidential Library.
The showing is free and open to the public. The library is located at 1000 Beal Avenue in Ann Arbor.
The video features President Ford during his senior year on the Michigan football team, when the university dealt with a major civil rights crisis surrounding the benching of its star player, Willis Ward, solely on the basis of race. (See review and trailer.)
