Football camp at EMU

Next Level 55 is hosting its ninth annual football camp for players entering ninth through 12th grades from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Eastern Michigan University’s Rynearson Stadium.

Former Ypsilanti High School and Lincoln High School coach Jason Malloy is the camp director and former Michigan State running back Edwin Baker is among the guest speakers.

Campers will get instruction for their specific positions and talks will include the benefits of football and academics. The cost is $50 and includes breakfast, lunch, a T-shirt and awards and trophies.

'Around the World' at Pioneer

The Pioneer High School boys basketball program is hosting an ‘Around the World’ tournament from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, July 27.

Around the World is a basketball shooting game that requires a series of shots to be made to move around a circuit.

The cost is $25 per two-person team, which will be assigned to one of three skill-based divisions. Double-elimination pool play will be followed by a bracket tournament to determine a champion in each division.

Fall youth volleyball league

Registration is now open for the Ann Arbor Rec & Ed’s fall co-ed youth volleyball league, which begins in October and runs through mid-December.

The league, for boys and girls in grades 4-9, is designed to develop skills and have fun playing the sport. There are no cuts or tryouts.

Speed, power and agility camp

MedSport will hold its Speed, Power and Agility Camp on July 16-19 at at Father Gabriel Richard High School. The camp -- which runs from 8 to 11:30 a.m. -- will help athletes improve foot speed, build power and explosiveness, and progress agility and quickness in preparation for the upcoming sports season.
