Middle school and high school boys interested in playing with the Western Washtenaw Basketball Association AAU program are invited to attend tryouts from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday at Chelsea High School.

The tryouts are for boys currently in grades 7 through 11. The AAU season for the WWBA -- which emphasizes individual skill development and teamwork in a competitive environment -- will end in late May.

There is no cost for the tryouts, but parents will need to sign medical release forms. The costs for the season is expected to be $250 per player, with an opportunity to reduce that amount through fundraising. For more information about the WWBA program, visit
