Injury report: Boubacar Cissoko, Junior Hemingway OK; Brandon Minor should be back

By Dave Birkett

The University of Michigan football team came out of its season-opening win over Western Michigan relatively unscathed.

Cornerback Boubacar Cissoko aggravated a nerve problem in his neck late in Saturday's first half, but coach Rich Rodriguez said Cissoko "should be fine" for this weekend's Notre Dame game.

Both Cissoko and receiver Junior Hemingway (ankle) will be limited in practice this week, Rodriguez said. Fullback Mark Moundros (concussion) also will be held out of contact drills this week, Rodriguez said.

Running back Brandon Minor, who missed the Western Michigan game with a high ankle sprain, "looked better than he had in a couple weeks" during warmups, Rodriguez said.

"Hopefully this week he’ll be stronger, and we hope that he’ll be able to play Saturday," Rodriguez said.

Regardless, Carlos Brown likely will make his second straight start at running back, Rodriguez said.

Michigan will release a full injury report on Thursday.

The fact that Cissoko's injury is a nerve in his neck is worrisome. I know those things don't heal quickly. We need our corners healthy and on top of their games against ND. Anything less will be problematic, unless of course if our front line can generate pressure on Clausen all game.
