OK, so it came against the Kansas City Royals, who the Tigers beat up on for the second straight night behind a strong effort from Rick Porcello.
Who knows: Maybe Johnny Damon really does see something he likes in the Motor City, where he'll stay after blocking a waiver trade back to Boston.
But at least one columnist - the Detroit Free Press' Drew Sharp - wonders if Damon really loves it here as much as he says, or if he's just saying all the right things before he bails.
