Kentucky to give basketball coach John Calipari 2-year contract extension
It appears John Calipari will remain with the Kentucky basketball program and pass up any NBA coaching opportunities.
Calipari received a two-year contract extension from Kentucky today, according to reports. The extension, according to KentuckySports.com, will allow him to earn up to $5.75 million by the 2018-2019 season.
Now if only we can get Calipari to stop talking about his vision of four college basketball super conferences, Richmond Times Dispatch columnist Paul Woody writes.

Coach Cal's contract is proof that, contrary to the old saw, cheaters do, indeed, prosper. As if we didn't know about that already from Ohio and USC.

Kudos Forever27. The athletes sees this gross inequity and they know what's going on. I cannot understand how colleges coaches have gained this type of foothold in college athletics. These guys make as much if not more than professional coaches. I am not convinced that college sports is still an amateur operation. Before its over, Kentucky will regret this decision.

Kentucky will be eating crow on this for sure. Calipari is as crooked as they come. He has left every school in shambles because of NCAA violations; he'll do the same with Kentucky.
