Reading some of the comments on this forum is always a surefire way to confirm that football fans are not exactly the sharpest tools in the box, to put it mildly!! The comments about Tate's ego.....I watched the whole game and all I saw was a kid who was a bit overwhelmed and somewhat confused quite often. I didnt see any ego....just a freshman who was a bit overwhelmed by what is probably a demanding ofensive scheme for any freshman. Everything that Tate and Denard did today is probably par for the course. They are both very good in their own way.....and the numnuts on this forum should not be ripping these 18 y/o guys playing the 2nd away game. Then there are the endless comments about how Denard will never make a decent QB because he cant throw - after barely playing about a total of about 30 snaps in 6 games. If anything I would call the coaching subpar - RR conduct in ripping into Tate somewhat pathetic.......wrong way to deal with any Freshman. Oh....and how many of you noticed that some of those snaps from Mooseman were coming in at Tate and denard's shoe laces??

I think 6 wins is a realistic expectation for this year but none of the teams left on the schedule are sure wins except maybe Del. St. The key is to stay competitive in losses and hope it transalates in to victories next year. Alot of people are unhappy with RR and rightfully so. There have been some questionable coaching moves. (unless TF mouthed off to RR he should have been on the field at the end. He may not be the better athlete but he is clearly the better QB.)Bo put up with the criticism just like Moeller and Carr did. RR wanted the job and this kind of scrutiny comes with it. The jury is still out on him. I won't pass judgment on what has happened at his other schools but I will judge him on what he does at UM. Without TF, Mich is 2 and 4 right now at best. The D played a little better tonight at least.

That's all you can do Azwolverine is have hope!!I mean, our program has went threw a major overhaul that, lets face it,NO ONE knows will truly work in our conference!I know the spread works when it's nice/pretty outside, but when it turns windy, wet, slick, and COLD,will the PRETTY spread be enough or will we line up(like we did some tonight/in the Power-I)and say, Here it is,A RUNNING PLAY,try and stop us!!That's when we show that Michigan Heart and toughness that we all love!!That we HOPEFULLY will have b/c of going threw games like these!!!GO BLUE!!!

Lakeerie, I feel the sentiment. Not sold on RR, but will support him. What else can I do? He's the coach of my favorite team...if he does well, so does my team. I haven't seen nearly as much of that as I would like to the last two seasons, but I'm still holding out hope.

People....this is what being YOUNG and INEXPERIENCED will get you.TURNOVERS!!!We still lost by 2pts.No QUIT in this team. They will grow from this and the experience will come too. Now,the offensive play calling is another story!Where are the GO-routes?And that little flee flicker to the running back play didn't work either(but we had to try it 5 times to learn). When we finally line up in Power-I and POUND the ball do we start to move the ball consistently!!But then, we go away from that too.I'm telling myself to STAY PATIENT(not really sold on RR but support him)and hopefully,we will get better!!Good Luck next week.GO BLUE!!!

Wow, this live chat is pretty pathetic. What amazes me is that a lot of people believe this game was decided in a 1:30!! What about the other 58:30?? There were many plays left on the field that if they were reversed, this game doesn't come down to a last second drive. As RR stated, this team is not going to be handed anything--they have to earn it! 5 Turnovers, dropped interceptions, inconsistent QB play, etc. does not earn a victory! Somehow, the players need to step up and be held accountable. We're actually lucky our team didn't get blown out tonight. And yet, with all the turmoil, they still had a chance to win......patience people, it's still year 2! Go Blue!

Wondering, Tater is referring to live chat....He is right about there being alot of people ignorantly calling for richrod's head. I am amazed at how quickly people are jumping on him after winning the first few close ones. Have some perspective people....

Unbelievable. I'm witholding judgment on RR, but from what I saw tonight, I'm not happy. 5 turnovers and a D that continues to give up big plays and keep teams on the field on third down. Turnovers and bad D are a disturbing trend under RR and, along with RR's sideline tantrums, speak of an undisciplined, poorly coached team. Those who blame it all on the players are the same ones who blamed all of coach Carr's losses on him. Hypocrisy. You can't have it both ways. Again, we will see how the season plays out, but the objective facts are that RR took over a program that played 41 straight years of winning football and he has promptly gone 7-11 and broken all kinds of records on the wrong side of the ledger. I'm not convinced he's the right man for the job. Do I wan't him fired? No, I still think it's too early in his tenure, but right now I'm seeing more shades of Bill Callahan and Charlie Weiss than I am of Pete Carrol, Urban Meyer, or GASP...Jim Tressel. It's all about producing victories...not giving them away.

Tate Fumble the ball and he had an INT.. I will stand by Rich Rod on this one. Minor fumble the ball and so did the punt Return team Greag I think? Turn over cost Michigan the game, and Tate had 2 turnovers. D Rob was the right call at the end. Tate had time to put this away but did not do it. Tate looked lost out there. This game was close and I'm glad Michigan played a top twenty team to the end... GO BLUE!!!!!

not to mention how he has been treating the players on the sideline.. i understand tough love but a few times it was a little much.. he should come let us all smack him upside the head for his mistakes..

What the flip, when will this michigan team ever learn from there mistakes. Same thing last week, Rich R. is 6-11. I would give him this yr to make or break, I don't want michigan to turn into Nebraska, or Notre Dame. Fix this program NOW. Remember the old saying in Michigan they don't rebuild they reload!!!!!

Seriously, RichRod ought to be fired for what he did, that loss is 100% his fault! Let's recap, shall we? With about 90 seconds left and no timeouts, RR brings in Denard to run the offense. Denard does one thing well, he runs the ball. But with no timeouts and 90 seconds and about 50 yards to cover, you cannot run the ball. Tate has won how many games in clutch time this year? Who beat ND with 90 seconds left? Who beat IU with 90 seconds left? Who took MSU to overtime with 90 seconds left??? Why the hell did he bench Tate for the final drive??? So what happens? Denard overthrew his receiver by about 15 yards for an easy interception. 100% Rich Rod's fault. I'm just sick. We could have/would have won that game with Tate behind center. Horrible.

To Tater: I didnot see anything about "firing". The question is why did Martin pay so much for this guy. Also last year stunk. we won three lost two. How many games are left in the season. They can not continue to play like this. Young yes, but Michigan beat themselves two weeks in a row. That is the truth. Please do not be rude. Grown people are not rude or snarley, they talk.

I have been trying to be a RR supporter, but tonight I am struggling. Tate had a frustrating game and Rich was on his case throughout the game. I agree with Denard having a shot and I was pleased, but surprised that he engineered a touchdown. Now with less than two minutes left, and a passing game the obvious strategy, I expected the passing QB Tate to be the man. But, not the case. That last pass was terrible and yet, Denard received a hug from coach RR. Tell me everybody, what is going on and how can I get back to wanting our coach to bring Mich. football back to the level we all want it to be.

Not as good as I hoped, but better than I expected! Without the freshman mistakes, and one fumble, they would have won. As Robison's passing judgment improves, he will be a monster, certainly better than Pryor. As for Forcier, the kid needed to be out. Maybe he wouldn't have thrown an interception - or maybe he might have folded. He's still a kid. Better times ahead.

Wow.. Good thing rich rod didn't put tate in who's only led michigan to 3 comebacks in a row in pressure situations.. It was to hard to predict the end of that one when denard came out.. We have the talent.. but the coaching is horrible

Touchdown!! Denard. Why did it take so long for this to happen?

Five games and Michigan has been out-coached in four of them. They were lucky in two of those, but the two losses might lead one to believe that Bill Martin has over paid for our new coaching staff.
