A recent Knight Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics report says many university presidents feel powerless to stem the rising costs of collegiate sports.

University of Michigan president Mary Sue Coleman says she isn't one of them, according to the Michigan Daily.

“I understand that maybe a lot of presidents feel like they can’t do anything, but I guess I don’t feel that way about myself at Michigan,” Coleman told The Daily.

She added: “Maybe I’m very privileged to be in this circumstance, (but) I do feel like we have good control.”
