Meandering through the maize (and blue): Michigan still in it for Casey Prather

By Michael Rothstein

Casey Prather is one of the top players in the Class of 2010 for basketball recruiting.

And the small forward has named Michigan as one of his seven finalists, according to the Jackson Sun.

Michigan is the lone Big Ten school Prather is still interested in, along with Kentucky, Florida and Vanderbilt in the SEC, Clemson and North Carolina in the ACC and Memphis.

A CASEY PRATHER INTERVIEW WITH MEMPHIS ROAR:

FOOTBALL:

  • Matt Markey of the Toledo Blade writes about the Big Ten -- not Michigan or Ohio State, though -- starting to have teams play in December.
  • Cornerback Donovan Warren is critical to the success of Michigan's secondary, Mark Snyder writes in the Detroit Free Press.
  • Pete Bigelow of annarbor.com isn't impressed with Michigan's decision to open the 2010 season with Connecticut.
  • Dave Birkett of annarbor.com writes that the SEC has been beating on the Big Ten the past few years.
  • BASKETBALL:

  • Former Michigan coach Johnny Orr still roots on -- Iowa State.

What is Prather ranked? That would be a nice get for Beilein. The UM basketball program is really picking up momentum. And I apologize as my eyes were not really focused on Prather during this interview.
