Meandering through the maize (and blue): Oh, Tim Tebow

By Michael Rothstein

Glad to see you've found us again here at annarbor.com. Don't forget to sign up and start following myself and football writer Dave Birkett, among others here. And the "Meandering through the maize (and blue) will be your morning roundup.

While a bunch of Michigan links are below, the biggest story in college football yesterday and today came from where else but those mildly insane SEC media meetings in Alabama (900 media members are there).

And the big story coming out of yesterday -- Tim Tebow. The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner and the best returning player in college football this year has long made his faith something he felt comfortable talking about publicly. So yesterday, a reporter, Clay Travis, asked Tebow if he was still a virgin.

Yes, that question actually happened.

As Yahoo! columnist Dan Wetzel wrote, it's become a fairly common question for Tebow to get. How many days until Big Ten and college football really starts? Oh yeah, three.

As if Tebow couldn't have anyone he wants in Gainesville, he gets an opportunity to profess to the world that he is a virgin. Talk about hard to get.....
