Meandering through the maize (and blue): Tom Brady's injury creates a new rule

When Tom Brady was at Michigan, there were many times he didn't have complete control over the quarterback position, sharing with Drew Henson.

Now, as the NFL's biggest star, he's got his own rule.

The injury that cost Brady the 2008 NFL season - on an accidental hit by former Purdue player Bernard Pollard - wasn't a penalty then. It will be now, Michael Reiss reports in the Boston Globe. Plays like that will be deemed "forceable contact" when it happens below the knee.

FOOTBALL:
