Michigan picked up two official commitments from 6-foot-9 small forward Evan Smotrycz of Reading, Mass. and 6-foot-5 forward Tim Hardaway Jr. of Miami on Wednesday, the first official day players from the Class of 2010 can sign basketball letters of intent.
Smotrycz tweeted that he's officially coming to Michigan on Wednesday afternoon and the No. 3 player in New England according to the New England Recruiting Report is starting his second year at New Hampton Prep in New Hampshire.
Smotrycz is also writing a diary with UMHoops.com throughout his senior season.
Hardaway is the son of former NBA All-Star Tim Hardaway.
This one was pretty much a lock, but it is nice to hear that it is official.
It's great to see UM upgrading the roster's height. Their dominant teams of the 80's and 90's used to be a lot taller than they have been the last few years; a few of those earlier teams had as many as seven players who were listed as 6-9 or taller.
When you combine JB's system, superior conditioning, the developmental drills JB requires, and enough height to be on the correct end of matchup problems instead of the wrong end, the future looks really great for UM.
Hopefully, they will be to a point where they reload instead of rebuilding when Manny and Peedi cycle through.

Please lay off the superior conditioning we see how far Barwis has taken the M football team.

Different guy conditioning the bball team than football. They were in pretty good shape last year. Im with u tater on being able to reload instead of rebuild cause i don't see manny coming back for a senior year. And with illinois, ohio state, and msu loading up next year we have to keep pace and not get left behind.
