Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez talks quarterbacks, preparing for UConn and redshirting

By Jeff Arnold

Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez acknowledged Monday he has a definite idea who will start at quarterback for the Wolverines on Saturday against UConn.

But during his first weekly press conference of the regular season, Rodriguez remained mysterious about just who would begin the game under center. One thing is clear: Tate Forcier, Denard Robinson and Devin Gardner all are in the mix.

Rodriguez also announced Gardner -- the talented true freshman from Inkster -- probably won't redshirt this year - one of several topics of conversation that came out of Monday's media gathering.

Am I the only one wondering if Bo ever had to put up with this much crap from the local media? You are probably right, though. Bo probably would have said, "You'll know, when I want you to know" and no one would have questioned him any further.

So am I the only one wondering what's happened to leadership around here? I guess I can't imagine Bo saying "I think, maybe, sort of, I have a definite idea, but I'm not ready to tell anybody yet." Even after Bo earned the "trust me" he never came off like this. What happened to decisiveness - on and off the field? I still have my season tickets but for the first time in my life I'm not sure I'm looking forward to the games. I'm still all in for tailgating. ymmv and contrarians are welcome (and expected).
