The Great Lakes Regional Rodeo, the annual event put on by the Michigan Gay Rodeo Association, is coming back to Belleville.

The rodeo will be held Friday through Sunday at the Wayne County Fairgrounds, located at 10871 Quirk Road in Belleville. Tickets are $12 in advance or $18 for a weekend pass if purchased in advance at michiganrodeo.org.

The rodeo starts at noon Saturday and Sunday, and will feature a host of events including bull riding, team roping, barrel racing and more. Friday’s festivities include a welcome hoedown at 6 p.m., and Saturday will feature a car show. More information is available on the event's web site.

The rodeo, formerly called the Motown Rodeo, has been held in Belleville for each of the last three years. It is a member of the International Gay Rodeo Association. The event’s mission, according to its web site, is “to foster the sport of rodeo and related country and western lifestyle activities within the Gay Community.”
