Michigan gymnastics earns another national title and more Saturday college sports results
WEST POINT, N.Y. -- One day after his University of Michigan gymnastics team won an NCAA team championship, Wolverine senior Ryan McCarthy kept the titles rolling in by winning the high bar event at the NCAA Event Finals Saturday at Army's Christl Arena.
Michigan finished 1-2-3 in the event. MGoBlue.com reports that McCarthy's win is Michigan's first individual event champion since Drew Digore took the vault title in 2003.
Kent Caldwell, Phillip Goldberg, Chris Cameron and Thomas Kelley also earned All-America honors with top-eight finishes.
BASEBALL Illinois 6, Michigan 2: The Illini scored four unearned runs in the fifth inning in Champaign, Ill. Pioneer High School graduate and Michigan starter Bobby Brosnahan was perfect through four innings before leaving in the fifth. Michigan is 22-12, 5-3 in the Big Ten. (MGoBlue.com coverage)
