The Michigan hockey team snapped a three-game losing streak and earned its first road win of the season by topping Lake Superior State, 6-4 Friday night.

The win, Michigan's first since topping Michigan State in the Great Lakes Invitational third place game last month, brings its record to 8-13-2 an 5-10-2-2 in the CCHA.

The Wolverines jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Luke Moffatt and Derek DeBlois 20 seconds apart in the first period.

Michigan went on to lead 4-1, before LSSU climbed back to make it a 5-4 game with 1:26 left. But forward Alex Guptill notched the empty-net goal with 34 seconds left.

Moffatt finished with a game-high two goals. DeBlois, Guptill, Jacob Trouba and Phil DiGiuseppe had Michigan's other goals. Dexter native Andrew Sinelli finished with two assists.

Junior Adam Janecyk started in goal, recording 29 saves.

Michigan and LSSU face off again Saturday night at 7:05 p.m.
