The Michigan hockey team, which has outscored its opponents 24-4 on its way to a 4-0 start, is ranked No. 1 in the latest U.S. College Hockey Online poll.

Michigan earned 24 first-place votes and 933 votes, ahead of No. 2 Boston College, which has 15 first-place votes. Boston College was ranked No. 1 last week, but lost to Denver on Friday. Denver is No. 3 and Colorado College is No. 4 in the poll, released Monday.

The Wolverines are No. 2 in the college hockey's other major rankings, the USA Today/USA Hockey poll. Boston College maintains the No. 1 spot in that poll while Michigan moved up from No. 5. Denver, Colorado College and Notre Dame round out the top five.

Michigan, coming off a 10-3 victory against St. Lawrence, opens CCHA action with games at Northern Michigan (3-1) on Friday and Saturday.

The Wildcats are No. 17 in the poll and unranked in the USA Today/USA Hockey poll, which only ranks 15 deep.
