The University of Michigan hockey team capitalized on three power plays -- including two goals from junior left wing Carl Hagelin -- and wrapped up its exhibition weekend with a 6-2 win over Windsor University at Yost Ice Arena on Sunday.
Hagelin, who also scored twice in Saturday's 4-2 win over the U.S. National Team Development Program Under-18 team, scored both of his goals in the second period to give the Wolverines a 3-2 lead.
"Carl has shown that he is able to play. We're definitely seeing some really good things from him," said Michigan coach Red Berenson. "Carl felt that he played really well last year but he wasn't capitalizing on his chances. ... It's good that he is gaining some confidence and he had a great weekend."
The Wolverines pulled away in the third period, getting two goals from junior center Louie Caporusso and another from junior defenseman Chad Langlais. (MGoBlue.com story)
