Michigan men's swim team tops Michigan State; U-M tennis teams dominate and more
The Michigan men's swimming and diving team put an exclamation point on its dual meet season with a 167-125 win over Michigan State on Saturday at Charles McCaffree Pool in East Lansing.
Sophomore Miguel Ortizwon the 100-yard backstroke (49.30 seconds) and the 50 freestyle (20.94). Six other Wolverines won individual events and Michigan swam pool-record times while winning the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL Concordia 69, Madonna 56: Kortni Elsworth scored 26 points and picked up 14 rebounds, leading the Cardinals to a home win. Brittany Simmons added a 19-point, 11-rebound performance for Concordia (17-9).
WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS Michigan 196.800, New Hampshire 195.375: The Wolverines posted a season-high score at New Hampshire. Kylee Botterman's all-around total ranked as the second-highest in the nation this season.
MEN'S TENNIS Michigan 6, Wake Forest 1: The No. 23-ranked Wolverines swept the singles matches in a rout of the visiting Demon Deacons.
WOMEN'S TENNIS Michigan 7, Kentucky 0: The Wolverines made quick work of the Wildcats.
