Michigan-Ohio State football game is fast approaching and other links

By Dave Birkett

We’re one day closer to The Game, and the focus around these parts continues to be on everything but football.

Mike Brown, Rich Rodriguez’s agent, said Wednesday that Rodriguez met with Michigan president Mary Sue Coleman earlier this week and received another vote of confidence. Coleman told The Wall Street Journal last month she intended to be patient with the building process, but she’s declined recent interview requests.

Rodriguez also addressed issues his program had last year with unkept practice logs. If you're looking for a full explanation, don't hold your breath, though Rodriguez promised to talk more in detail once the NCAA investigation is complete.

• ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay, through Ivan Maisel, confirms what NFL scouts have told me - there's little to no talent on Michigan's roster.

• Don't - I repeat don't - go swimming in Mirror Lake if you ever happen upon OSU's campus.
