Tate Forcier talks about his return to the field in the Wolverines' fourth straight win

By Jeff Arnold

Michigan's 65-21 win over Bowling Green Saturday marked the return of former starting quarterback Tate Forcier. After not playing for the first three weeks of the season, the sophomore saw significant time, completing all 12 passes he threw and setting a school record for quarterback efficiency.

Sean T - It's your kind of mentality that has kids jumping from college to college. "Me 1st!" It's the spoiled brat - "I'm going to start, or I'm going to a team that will start me" - attitude that is hurting college football programs these days.

I hope he stays, but don't think he hasn't been keeping an eye on threats success by leaving.

Who doesn't know what a Michigan education can do for you? The point is he's here for Football and you are fooling yourselves if you think any better. I'm not sure of what kind of student Tate is but there are probably more than two handfuls of schools that can use his services and give him a quality education. Now if he's truly playing for Michigan because of the academics, then I would never question a decision to ride the pine and stay in Ann Arbor. But he's a winner and a clutch player to boot and he'll never see the field except for mop up duty and he deserves better than that! Being second string is one thing, but being "third" behind a true freshman because he can run a bit faster is sad. This isn't adversity, this is redundance. The issue is he has no shot at being a starter, no matter of his efforts. He's behind another sophomore who is the big fish in the pond and a freshman who will own the pond as Denard's successor. So where's the "plenty of time"? And Tom Brady is more memorable for being with the Pats than playing for the Wolverines. If Forcier transferred would it really equate to folding up shop because he can play somewhere else and showcase his abilities? It's worked for other QB's in recent years hasn't it? Either way we probably won't agree on the subject so I'll let it rest. I'm happy with our win today so on to next week!!!!

3 And Out

Brady started his final 25 games at UM....people forget that. He threw 350 passes each of his final 2 seasons, and Henson threw something like 47 one of those years and 90 the next...so really it was Brady's team and they tried to work Drew in...it just didnt work... how would that equate to Tate? probably not as long as Denard is healthy and bailing out RR he is going to go that direction...but if Denard goes down then Tate would be ready...the question is whether hed be willing to wait for 3 years with limited playing time... and yes Michigan is a great school, great place to be and the free education is certainly something all of us would love to have... I hope he stays, I like the kid but when you see his mentor Drew Brees playing so well in the NFL with similar skills, one would have to think that Tate wants that shot as well.

Tate is a talented kid and would be a solid DI QB in most programs... It was great to see him out there today looking good, making the right decisions and throwing accurately.

Sean T. A) World class education. B) He's a soph, plenty of time to stick with this team, see a better defense, and maybe win a NC C) Tom Brady.

Sean T, Has it occurred to you that Michigan is more than just football? Staying at Michigan is easily the best decision he could make. You have to be able to face adversity in life without folding up shop, and that is exactly what he's doing! He may not start at Michigan, but he will play and win games for his team, and he will get a world class education in the process. Wake up and smell the coffee man! Go Tate, Go Blue!

Tate, I love that you want to stay but this decision will haunt you if Denard is healthy. There is no room for you on this roster except for being a backup. Just because you played well and is the better all-around QB of the 3, doesn't mean RR will start you from here out. This is where Denard's legs will save RR's job and Denard is a better fit for this offense.
