Michigan State coach Tom Izzo still weighing offer from Cavaliers
By AnnArbor.com Staff
Tom Izzo originally thought he'd make a decision Saturday. The weekend's almost over, and the Michigan State basketball coach is still mulling a job offer from the Cleveland Cavaliers.
"Still gathering," he texted Larry Lage of the Associated Press on Sunday.
Here's the latest story on his possible departure from East Lansing.

You are both foolish. Izzo has never stopped anyone from going to the NBA. He talks to his NBA contacts, and relays that info off to his players. If the NBA contacts say they are a sure bet, Izzo relays that... but he does tell the player if they are not. Izzo has had players go early to the NBA.... Richardson, Randolph. Remember Taylor... Izzo told him he wasn't ready... and he didn't listen to Izzo... and ended up not even making a D League team. If Lucas hadn't torn his achilles... Izzo knows that Lucas would have been gone, and has said he would have given Lucas his blessing. Izzo is doing nothing more right now, than he does with his own players. There is nothing hypocritcal about his actions.

Tater: I happen to agree with you on this one. I am neither a fan or non-fan of Tom Izzo or MSU basketball but I think this whole thing is overblown and his sense of self worth is overinflated. I guarantee you his players are looking at his action and greed and next season their response will be reflected in his players performance. It's ok for him to make money from the NBA but its not ok for his players. Everyone knows that Izzo is going to milk this situation for everything its worth to him and his family. Izzo will not go to the NBA because he is not a great coach. Unlike college players, NBA players rely less on directions from their coach and coming from the college ranks where has has total control over his players and he can bully them, he will find it much more difficult to repeat his success at the professional level.
