Michigan Varsity Tennis center hosting Ann Arbor area junior championship Friday

The University of Michigan Varsity Tennis Center, located at 2250 South State Street in Ann Arbor, will be the site of the inaugural Ann Arbor Area Junior Team Tennis Championships on Friday from 12-4 p.m.

Garrett Kessler, director of tennis at Georgetown Country Club, coordinated the first-year event using the annual Washtenaw Interclub Swimming Championships as a model. He hopes the tennis tournament can add another layer to the friendly competition between some of the clubs that have swimming and tennis, such as Georgetown.
