Michigan water polo team completes successful weekend and more Sunday results
The No. 7-ranked Michigan water polo team completed a weekend sweep on Sunday, winning two games to finish a California road trip with a 6-0 record.
Five of those wins came against nationally-ranked opponents, including Sunday's wins over No. 11 San Diego State (12-11) and No. 15 Cal State Bakersfield (15-4) at the UC-Santa Barbara Winter Invitational.
Senior Alison Mantel had three goals and three assists against San Diego State and freshman Sophie Hoegh had three goals against Bakersfield.
"We couldn't have asked for a better weekend to go 6-0 in six games, five of which were against ranked opponents," Michigan coach Matt Anderson said. "A couple of close ones should makes us better later in the season in terms of managing the game and maintaining our composure." (More details)
