Michigan women picked last in Big Ten

CHICAGO - The Michigan women's basketball team was picked last by both the media and coaches in the annual preseason poll in Chicago.

Ohio State was picked to win the league by both the coaches and media, followed by Michigan State.

Ohio State junior center Jantel Lavender was tabbed by both the coaches and media as the preseason Player of the Year.

On the media team was Illinois senior forward Jenna Smith, Michigan State senior center Allyssa DeHaan, Lavander, Ohio State sophomore guard Samantha Prahalis and Penn State senior forward Tyra Grant.

The coaches team was the same.
