Michigan women's basketball rolls; volleyball swept by Ohio State
LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Freshman forward Sam Arnold's career-high 16 points led the University of Michigan's women's basketball team to an 85-61 win over Stephen F. Austin in the opening game of the Aggie Hotel Encanto Classic on Friday night at New Mexico State's Pan American Center.
MGoBlue.com reports that sophomore forward Carmen Reynolds (16 points), junior guard Veronica Hicks (12) and freshman forward Rachel Sheffer (12) joined Arnold in double-figure scoring totals.
Stephen F. Austin was led by Whitney Cormier, who had a game-best 23 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field.
Michigan plays host New Mexico State at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The UM volleyball team has a #13 seed going into the NCAA tournament and will be hosting early rounds this weekend. Would be nice for them to have some coverage.
