Michigan wrestling team hands Northwestern its first loss; U-M women's swim team tops Ohio State and more
The No. 11-ranked University of Michigan wrestling team handed No. 19 Northwestern its first loss of the season, 22-12, in a Big Ten Conference dual meet Friday at Cliff Keen Arena in Ann Arbor.
The Wolverines clawed back from a 12-6 deficit at the intermission. From there, U-M went on a five-match winning streak, started by Dan Yates, who won a 5-2 decision at 165 pounds.
Justin Zeerip, who missed the last two weeks with an injury, made the most of his return with a 10-1 major decision at 174 pounds.
