Offensive lineman David Moosman out for Eastern Michigan

By Dave Birkett

Michigan released its official injury report Thursday, and offensive guard David Moosman will miss Saturday's game against Eastern Michigan.

Moosman, who had started 14 straight games, suffered a shoulder injury in last week's win over Notre Dame. John Ferrara practiced with the first team in Moosman's place Wednesday.

Receiver Junior Hemingway, who missed the Notre Dame game, is listed as probable.

Michigan also announced its game captains for Saturday: Defensive end Brandon Graham, receiver Jon Conover, kicker Jason Olesnavage and receiver LaTerryal Savoy.

I am really disappointed in Rich Rodriguez this morning. For all of the grief he gets that he does not deserve, this is one time when he should get plenty...and where is Ann Arbor news on this one? You guys are usually pretty good at reporting/creating negative stories for our football program. I have no idea where Rich is coming from when he says that he watched the video and only saw "guys getting untangled"...or something to that effect. I think the hit in the back was cheap, but you don't retaliate with a punch to the face. It's just that simple. One game is a suitable punishment and should have been levied immediatly by by Coach Rod. I think he is trying to "stick up for" Mouton, which may be a good thing in certain situations, but Coach, this is not one of them.

There is no doubt Moosman took a swing and connected, but he was also on the ground away from the play and the N D defender gave him a shot while he was down. Maybe both players should sit.

We have some depth but replacing someone like Moosman is difficult

Let's hope that Moosman will be ready for the start of the Big Ten season. Depth at offensive line was a big problem last year but this year the needed quality depth appears to be there.
