Pioneer, Huron water polo advance to Saturday's state semifinals
BIRMINGHAM -- The Pioneer and Huron high school water polo teams each came away with 3-point victories in the Michigan Water Polo Association state championship quarterfinals Friday at Birmingham Seaholm High School.
The top-ranked Pioneers defeated Grandville, 9-6, while the defending state-champ River Rats edged Grand Haven, 13-10. Pioneer takes on East Kentwood at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in one semifinal and Huron battles Rockford at 11:45 a.m. in the other at Seaholm.
