The Pistons beat an Arenas-less Washington Wizards team, 99-90, Tuesday night to snap a 13-game losing streak. The team's atrocious this year, and as bad as the Pistons are they're nowhere near the leaders in the John Wall derby.
At 3-34, the New Jersey Nets have the NBA's worst record by a mile. The Pistons (12-25) are lottery-bound though, so there's always a chance.
DETROIT RED WINGS • The Red Wings had just 16 shots on goal in a 6-0 loss to the New York Islanders on Tuesday. "Thank God that was on the road and hopefully not too many people were watching on television," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock told MLive.com.
NFL • Former Michigan receiver Braylon Edwards was placed on probation and fined $1,000 for an altercation with LeBron James' boy in Cleveland last year. Meanwhile, Edwards is catching flack for his problem with the dropsies.
• Running back Ray Rice needs a repeat of last week's dominant performance if the Ravens are to upset the Colts in the NFL playoffs on Saturday. Lions fans can watch the game knowing Rice is the running back the Lions wanted to draft 2 years ago, when they settled for Kevin Smith at the start of Round 3.
NBA • In Memphis, the Grizzlies won a basketball game after the arena was evacuated.
OTHER NEWS • And away from the sports world, Haiti was rocked by a 7.0 earthquake and the Conan O'Brien-Jay Leno feud continues.
