The Detroit Red Wings wanted more production from their third line, and they got it Wednesday in a 2-1 victory against the Calgary Flames, MLive.com reports.
Mike Modano and Justin Abdelkader had goals and Dan Cleary had an assist as the Red Wings outshot the Flames, 33-17.
"Our line is successful when we can hang onto pucks, cycle down low and bring it to the net,'' Abdelkader said. "It's going to open up a lot of things. It's a lot funner when you can play in their zone.''
