Couple of things: Originally the race was held on Saturday. I know this because my road is cut off at Huron River Drive, the only access to anywhere. Also, there are volunteers at each water stop whose job it is to pick up the cups. Or there are supposed to be.

Is Ann Arbor.com going to post all the runners and their times? Back in the day, The Ann Arbor News would publish this.

Half marathon starts at 8:30. Runners who can't keep a 15-minute pace are kicked out, so Main St. between M-14 and downtown is closed until noon. This happens every year.

Any reason why access to numerous Sunday morning church services was cut off by closing down Main for so long? Can't the race committee show more sensitivity to those who like to worship on Sunday morning, not run?

Running is a form of prayer for me.

Our church embraces it and encourages people to participate. Think about that.

Do you really have to think about that? Guess you should make plans to go around next year.

Sorry about your inconvenience - for at least the past 40 years! god will forgive you for missing a Sunday service. Why was Main St. closed for so long? Think, thinker!
