Rose Bowl thrilled to host a traditional Big Ten-Pac 10 matchup
Rose Bowl CEO Mitch Dorger grew up in Columbus, Ohio. So he knows a little about the importance of Pasadena traditions, including a Big Ten-Pac 10 matchup.
Rose Bowl officials are happy to have a traditional Big Ten-Pac 10 matchup this season.

With Ohio State and Oregon slated to play at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 1, the Rose Bowl gets exactly that. Six days later, Pasadena will also host the BCS Championship game between Texas and Alabama.
For the Granddaddy Of Them All, it's the best scenario under the current college bowl system.
Doug Lesmerises of The Plain Dealer of Cleveland chatted with Dorger about the tradition-heavy Rose Bowl, and we begin today's Meandering with that story.

Portage... Just say RR is allowed to have 2 more years and he doesn't get the results, would you consider those who dislike what he has done weak-minded still? The way I see it, where you see a silver-lining, I see a dismantling. Many of Us lovethis program as much as you do but will not stand by with our heads in the sand while all we get is excuses. Go Blue and go big Ten!!!!!!

If it were U of M vs Ohio State, it would be trumped by the NHL game at Fenway Park

Living in southern Cal. I could care less about the big 10. I have a real soft spot for Mich Wolves and will always care about the state and the Wolves. Don't like ohio state or that Pr that coaches them. He's mousy and arrogant and his teams are way overrated. Here's hoping that RR can bring Mich. back to prominence and I don't just mean in the big 10 which proves nothing outside the 10. ohio state is an example of what dominating the big 10 gets you a big fat 0 in the national picture cause winning in the big 10 only means your good in a so so league. I think RR can pull this off but you wouldn't know it by the last 2 years. This is a case of, "patience is a virtue". Mich is truly entrenched in that pro style offense both in the minds and masses you can see it at the games almost a robotic type of crowd and play making attitude, it will be hard to break that cycle and play catch up especially when Mich always does well in the big 10 with this style. Fans don't seem to care about national titles or bowl wins when they can win a high percentage with the old style and old system. I'm sure this whole thing right down to recruiting is a lot more than RR bargained but I think he's got the Ba--- for it and he'll be fine if these weak minded fans and alum can take the pain a couple more years.

I hope the Big Ten rep can win for a change. I think it will help that the Big Ten rep isn't playing USC in USC's backyard this year.
